Over two weeks, enjoy the variety of traveling experiences of which Thailand is renowned for. It is wholesome and fulfilling, fill the stomach, fill the senses, be receptive and be active.
Arrive in Bangkok and be welcomed by our tour guide then transfer to the hotel for a rest. Free time. Overnight at hotel in Bangkok.
Dedicate a full day to the exploration of the capital city. Visit the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (or the Pagoda of Emerald Buddha). Continue to visit the principle temples of the city: Wat Pho where you admire the giant reclining Buddha Statue. Embark on a boat trip through the Chao Praya River. Drop by Wat Arun (the Temple of Breaking Dawn). Finally, stop at Wat Traimit, the pagoda known for its 3-metre Golden Buddha Statue. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Bangkok.
Morning drive from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi for 2 hours to take train at Train Station in city of Kanchanaburi at 10.00 AM to Nam Tok Train Station. The two-hour journey along Thailand–Burma Death Railway is one of Thailand’s most scenic and most popular train rides. It’s the history that makes the ride so special and worth visiting the Thailand–Burma Railway. After that, visit the Erawan Waterfall (50 kilometers northwest of Kanchanaburi). The seven-tiered waterfall is a trending tourist attraction with its sparkling beauty. If you are a tad an adventurer, stroll around to spot elephants, gibbons, and beware, king cobras. Venture into Pra That Cave to enjoy its four spacious rooms and study its age-old stalagmites and stalactites (if time permits). Overnight at hotel in Kanchanaburi.
Morning, arrival at Elephant’s World Sanctuary at 09.00 AM. – Meet and feed the elephants
– Observe the elephants bathing
– Clean fruit/vegetables, prepare and cook sticky rice for our old elephants
– Gathering / planting food for the elephants. e.g. banana trees / sugar cane / banana grass or prepare fruit baskets for the afternoon
– Feed sticky rice balls to the old elephants
– Take the elephants to the river for a bath / scrub them clean
– Feed the elephants fruit and vegetables
– The day program ends at 16.00 PM.
After leaving the elephant sanctuary, drive north to Ayutthaya. Overnight at hotel in Ayutthaya.
Visit Wat Mahathat (Temple of the Great Relics) is apart from being the symbolic center where the Buddha’s relics were enshrined, Wat Mahathat was also the residence of the Supreme Patriarch or leader of the Thai Buddhist monks. Wat Phra Si Sanphet, was the grandest and most beautiful temple in the capital and it served as a model for Wat Phra Kaeo in Bangkok. Afternoon, drive from Ayutthaya to the airport in Bangkok for the flight to Chiang Mai. On arrival, meet our driver and transfer to the hotel. Free time. Overnight at hotel in Chiang Mai.
Visit Doi Suthep Pagoda – a gilded Theravada wat that glows like a lighthouse over Chiang Mai. After ascending 309 steps to the pagoda, visit Bhubing Rajanives Palace, was built in 1961 to accommodate the royal family during state visits to Chiang Mai. Afternoon, contemplate the hilltop view of Chiang Mai at Baan Tong Luang Hill Village. Encounter the Lahu, Hmong, White Karen and Long-necked Karen as they pour into the local marketplace. End with Wat Chedi Luang, ruined Lanna-style chedi (built in 1441). You can view a jade replica, given as a gift from the Thai king in 1995 to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the chedi. Overnight at hotel in Chiang Mai.
Morning Thai cooking class (09:00 AM – 14:00 PM). Before cooking, shopping excursion to the local market. The course begins with a tour of a local country market, where you’ll learn how to recognize and select the fresh ingredients for today’s dishes. Cookery Class, you will be taught how to prepare the following dishes for your meal. Mealtime, we step out of the kitchen to enjoy the dishes we’ve just prepared in the picturesque setting of our charming roofed dining terrace, on the edge of the rice paddies. The ideal surroundings in which to delight your taste-buds as you savor the rewards of your culinary efforts and peacefully contemplate the enchanting rural scenery of Northern Thailand. After you’ve finished eating, transfer to Chiang Rai and check-in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Chiang Rai.
Visit Choui Fong Tea Plantation, the high-quality tea manufacturer for half a century. Plantation area of over 1,000 rais in High Mountain, all teas are grown under optimal conditions then hand-picked at the perfect time. Doi Tung Royal Villa, built in the Lanna and Swiss architectural styles, was the residence of late Royal Highness Princess Srinakarindra, the Princess Mother. The Mae Fah Luang Garden is the most beautiful landscaped garden in Thailand filled with hundreds of different kinds of plants and flowers. The garden is in front of the Doi Tung Royal Villa, on an expanse of hillside that was originally the Akha village of Pa Kluay. Overnight at hotel in Chiang Rai.
Visit Karen Long Neck, the site of eco-attractions union of hill tribe villages and Longneck Karen, is located at the top of the hills and in a style heretofore unknown in Chiang Rai. Continue with White temple or Wat Rong Khun. Late afternoon, transfer to the airport for the flight back to Bangkok. On arrival, meet our driver and head up to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bangkok.
Morning drive from Bangkok for 1.30 hour to Don Wai Floating Market, which is in Nakhon Pratom Province. Join boat trip along the river for sightseeing Don Wai Temple – Tha Puut temple – Rai Khing temple – fish farm – Traditional Thai style house for 1.15 hour. Late afternoon, drive back to Bangkok. Overnight at hotel in Bangkok.
Free time before the transfer to the airport for the flight to Koh Samui. On arrival, welcome by our driver and drive to the hotel. Free time. Overnight at hotel in Koh Samui.
Free time before the transfer to the airport for the flight back to Bangkok and your departure flight. End of services.
