Classic tour

from 519 USD/ pax

The previous capital of Myanmar, Yangon has refused to let go of its lead on tourists with its revered Buddhist monuments and a lifestyle that bears clear and undisputed Western marks.

Wonder what awaits you in your coming 3 days in Yangon?
  • Shwedagon Pagoda coated in tons of gold and gems – an icon of Buddhist supremacy in this enclosed country
  • A slice of daily life through its circular railway line and the busy Bogyoke Market
  • Twante, an old-styled pottery village to the east of Yangon

itinerary

Arrival at Yangon airport, warmly welcomed by our well-experienced guide then transfer to hotel. Start your city tour to the center of Yangon to be immersed into the charming colonial city:
– Visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda and its great Reclining Buddha.
– When the sun moves slowly westward, stroll along China Town housing decrepit colonial buildings, an abundance of small shops and street vendors.
– End the day with an extended visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments, rises up to 99 meters. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Continue the visit of Yangon to discover the daily life of local residents:  Sightsee the famous Scott Market (Bogyoke), a vast complex built in 1926 and well-known for its variety of crafts (close at 4pm every day and Mondays). Then you board the local “circular train” that goes around the city, crossing the streets, neighborhoods and surroundings, giving you the opportunity to observe the vibrant and colorful life of Yangonnais.
In the afternoon, transfer to the port of Pansodan to take the boat to Dalah, a small village on the other side of the Yangon river, far away from the tourists and cars. Go on a short tour around the village by trishaw under the astonished gaze of the inhabitants. Visit a manufacturing factory of candles.
Return to the city at the end of the day, take a walk to see the center lake Kandawgyi, enjoy the beautiful golden barge Karaweik, the royal boat in the shape of a mythical bird. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Breakfast at hotel. After that, take a short but interesting ferry ride across Yangon River to visit the pottery village of Twante. Then catch a cap to the other end of Twante Canal where the secluded village nestles. Engage in making some pottery at one of the few remaining pottery kilns in the villages. Then you transfer to the airport without guide for your international departure flight.
