Day dedicated to explore the most important cultural sites and historical monuments of Vientiane:
– The ancient Wat Sisaket, a temple of thousands of miniature Buddha statues
– The former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha
– The Lao national icon, That Luang Stupa, and stop to take pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph
From there, drive out from Vientiane city to see the Buddha Park, an enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures set in parkland on the banks of the Mekong close to the Friendship Bridge. Here we find over 200 religious images dating back some 500 years faithfully recreated by a mysterious Biddhist monk.

After breakfast at hotel, have free time before transfer to airport for flight to Luang Nam Tha.

Morning transfer to Muang Sing, a small town near Chinese border, Muang Sing was the hub of the opium trade until the 1960s.
On arrival, visit some of the most impressive sites of the town: Tribal Museum, typical temples of the Thai architecture as well as some vestiges of the French colonial. Overnight at hotel in Muang Sing.
Morning visit to Phonesavan market where various tribes of the surrounding area come to exchange their products then start a day excursion to minority villages around Muang Sing.
After visiting market, trekking through gentle rolling hillsides, green rice fields and dirty roads, visit to Ban Don Chai village of Tai Lue minorities; Ban Pha Kha, Ban Sai Leck, Ban Jong Kha village… of Akha minorities; discover their original architecture of high wooden houses on stilts, long balconies loaded with clothes. Encounter of women who spin and weave in fine attire. Return to Muang Sing towards the end of the day. Overnight at hotel in Muang Sing.
After breakfast, morning transfer towards Oudomxay, then continue in direction of Pakbeng. The road follows the valley of the Mekong River, inhabited by Khmu and Red Thai ethnics, who have preserved their beliefs and their ancestral way of life.
Upon arrival in Pakbeng, check-in at your hotel. Overnight in Pakbeng.
Enjoy an excursion on the Mekong aboard a traditional boat to Luang Prabang through pristine landscapes with wild beauty.
At the confluence of the Nam Ou and the Mekong, visit the sacred Pak Ou Cave, where you will find hundreds of Buddha Statues left there over hundreds of years.
Arrival in Luang Prabang in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel.
Wake up early, walk or cycle around the city to admire the Laotians making offerings to the monks on the roadside. Return to the hotel for breakfast then departure for a tour of Luang Prabang city with its remarkable cultural-historical monuments:
– Wat Sene – the oldest temple in the city
– Wat Aham – one of the main sanctuaries of the city dedicated to the ancestors of Laos
– Wat Visoun with its impressive Sinhalese style stupa
– The magnificent temple of Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping down to the ground
– Royal Palace where the personal belongings of the royal family are displayed
Late afternoon, ascent to Mount Phousi to get panoramic view of the town nestled between the mountains. Overnight at hotel in Luang Prabang.
After breakfast at the hotel, have time at leisure before you will be transferred to the airport in time for your departing flight.
