3-Day Vientiane Itinerary
An inspection of Vientiane and its poetic surroundings brings about more than surprises: the freshly discovered delights of Laos’ capital are capable of utter astonishment.
On arrival at the Vientiane capital, you will be met by our guide and we continue our sightseeing tour of Vientiane surrounding; visit the impressive Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge and the Buddha Park, a display of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures created by mystical monk on parkland located by the Mekong River. A view of the Atacular sunset over the Mekong River is perfect way to finish the day. Overnight at hotel in Vientiane.
After breakfast, we head out of the city, make our way to Nam Ngum, a huge reservoir created by damming the Nam Ngum River, stopping over at Ban Keun, where local community uses authentic means to glean salt from the ground water. On arrival at the lake, we embark on a long tail boat visiting fisherman villages in varied islets. We visit some beautiful islets and take a short walk to explore the lifestyle of the locals. Disembark and return to the city. Overnight at hotel in Vientiane.
Vientiane is a charming and fascinating capital, with an interesting mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and French influences. We start to visit the major sights of the capital, including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Ho Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we will stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. From there, we visit the central or ‘Morning Market’ which is a great place for browsing antiques, handmade textiles and gifts.
The tour ends after your transfer without guide to airport for departure flight.
